My Summer with Hospitality House

Poster boards that I re-worked in one of the shelter’s hallways. The residents voted for “throwback cartoons” as the theme. :)

When I first came into this internship I wasn’t too sure what to expect, but I couldn’t be more grateful for what work I was able to do.

I do my best work when I feel like I’m doing something meaningful and impactful, and this internship gave me the opportunity to do just that. I walked away from the shelter every shift feeling like I had done something that helped someone else, and I’d strongly encourage any other potential interns who thrive on that feeling to give this organization a chance. Huge shoutouts to the coordinators, the shelter associates, the therapists and doctors, and of course our wonderful clients. I fully plan on coming back to volunteer. :)  -Leigh
