I had the amazing opportunity to intern spring semester of 2023. This experience has truly been one of a kind. Working here has been one of the most meaningful and valuable experiences in my life thus far. I have had the opportunity to make a positive impact, gain valuable skills and knowledge, and develop a deeper understanding of the challenges the individuals in my community face. The staff at the Hospitality House is extremely compassionate and nurturing. I always felt so supported. It is truly inspiring to see their passion and devotion to their job. It has left a great impact on me.
One of the most meaningful things to me about this internship was connecting with the clients. They always manage to put a smile on my face. They are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. I feel so grateful that I had the opportunity to really get to know them and hopefully leave an impact on them. The exciting thing about working here is that you never know what your day is going to look like. Everyday brings on new challenges and surprises. This has been crucial to my professional development as I have learned to handle many different types of situations. I have learned so much in my time here that I would never learn in a class room.
