About the Event

The 8th Annual High Country Turkey Trot 5K – THE LARGEST 5K in the High Country! Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 22, 2018) 9:00am on the scenic Boone Greenway Trail

The event regularly attracts participants from 25+ States and 55+ unique North Carolina towns. Since 2011, the Turkey Trot has raised over $180,000 and close to 7500lbs of food.

All proceeds benefit men, women and children living in crisis, hunger, poverty and homelessness.

Hospitality House, a regional nonprofit housing and homeless services agency, works in seven rural North Carolina counties (Watauga, Wilkes, Ashe, Avery, Alleghany, Mitchell, Yancey) providing housing, shelter, food access, homeless prevention, street outreach, counseling, medical care, and crisis assistance.
