In January of this year event namesake Frank Borkowski passed away. So this year, to honor his life, legacy and memory we are adding a Chancellor's Challenge to address a critical need.

Frank would often accompany Kay, the other event namesake and Hospitality House board chair emeritus, to board meetings. However, Frank would not attend the meetings. Instead, you would find Frank in the Reflection (Prayer) Room, just outside the conference room, rocking a baby in his arms and talking to the parent(s). Many times, that parent was someone who had fled domestic violence with her children and was transitioning to a safe and stable place of her own. Frank's kind eyes, easy personality, and eternal optimism always provided just the right amount of comfort and encouragement.

We recently lost $50,078 in Federal grant funding for our Domestic Violence Transitional Housing program. The hope is to raise $20,000 in additional funds through the Chancellor's Challenge to replace some of that lost funding and keep the domestic violence program fully operational and able to help survivors and their children achieve a better life.
